Our justice system is founded on a pre sumption of innocence until proven guilty\, but al l too often\, false or faulty evidence leads to wr ongful convictions. Once found guilty\, there is little room or support for proving doubt.
\n \nIn this session\, we will watch one story in w hich the falsely accused is ultimately proven inno cent and the accuser seeks the forgiveness of the exoneree. Then we’ll explore the story of the peo ple behind the Innocence Project and the Centurion Ministries who work to uncover these failures in our justice system.

About Ou r Speaker: Dr. Joyce Francis is a member of th e NAUA Academy’s Advisory Council and a retired pr ofessor of international affairs. She taught at G eorge Mason\, American\, and Tulane Universities. She is also a founding member of the Salish Sea F ellowship in Port Hadlock\, WA\, and chairs its Ad ult Learning Programs (ALPs). She has previously offered Academy programs on Race Amity\, the Supre me Court\, and the Rise of the Nones.
