You are invited to attend our all-online 2025 Annual Summit. There will be a variety of workshops to appeal to many types of interests and life schedules on the evenings of Tuesday, September 30 through Friday, October 3 (approximately 4-7 PM PDT). Additionally, there will be workshops, a business meeting and service over the Friday to Sunday weekend (Oct. 3, 4, 5). The cost to register for the event is $50 (if this is difficult for you, please send a request for a waiver to info@naunitarians.org). For this fee, you can attend any or all of the workshops and meetings as well as view the recordings afterward.
Our Keynote Speaker this year is Rev. Előd Szabó, who has been Minister of the Unitarian Church in Ürmös, Transylvania (Romania) since 2007, and is also a District Dean of the Hungarian Unitarian Church. Rev. Előd will help us better understand the deep and historic roots of our liberal religion.
Highlights of the many other interesting workshops include:
-
Stoic Philosophy: Traditional Greco-Roman and modern interpretations can help us in dealing with the stresses of modern life, particularly in this contentious political era.
-
Developing Your “Elevator Speech”: In 10-15 seconds, provide an overview of your religious philosophy and that of NAUA.
-
Faith and Diversity in NAUA: Longtime religious liberals George Williams, John Endicott, Rev. Todd Eklof and Revs. Lynn & Jerry Kerr discuss faith and diversity in the NAUA.
-
The Wit and Wisdom of Helen Pluckrose: Terry Anderson provides an overview of the rational liberal middle ground upon which we stand on many contentious issues, referencing the wisdom of Helen Pluckrose. Helen argues we do not need consensus or shared belief, but rather to ensure that institutional power is not used coercively against right or left adherents or activists for any cause.
-
More to Explore: Look for updates on various NAUA activities and those of other aligned organizations, opportunities to build friendships and make connections, enjoy volunteer talent show performers, attend and share your views / vote in business meetings, and more.
* If you are unable to afford the $50 registration fee, please email summit@naunitarians.org with your reasons for wanting to attend the Summit. Please indicate that you are applying for a fee waiver / scholarship.
