NAUA is financially dependent upon the generous and voluntary support of our members and friends. Your contributions enable us to help sustain a growing and vibrant liberal religious presence and voice throughout North America and elsewhere. Supporting NAUA is our way of supporting each other. 

As a religious organization, NAUA has always operated as a tax exempt non-profit. To provide added assurance to our donors, we applied for and received a 501(c)(3) determination letter from the IRS. We are now officially identified as a tax-exempt organization under IRS Section 170, and we will be added to the IRS’ searchable database under our EIN (92-1079431).

With IRS 501(c)(3) designation, it is now possible for you to make a gift to the NAUA that satisfies the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requirements of your Qualified (not Roth) IRA.  This would count as part of your RMD, but not count as income to you. So it would not be taxed. Ask you IRA custodian about making a Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD) to the NAUA.
