International Alliance
Goal: The International Alliance Committee seeks to promote the understanding and practice of Unitarianism and Liberal Religion throughout the World.
Objectives:
- Promote awareness of the North American Unitarian Association (NAUA), its principles and programs to Unitarian, Universalist and other liberal religious communities, organizations and individuals worldwide.
- Help to bring liberal religions and UUs together from around the world, and encourage international collaboration and participation.
- Affiliate and collaborate with international liberal religious organizations.
- Take an active role with non-religious international organizations (e.g. United Nations) and programs whose mission are consistent with the principles, goals and objectives of NAUA.
- Create educational programs for our members and share them with other international Unitarian and liberal religious organizations (e.g. the International Association for Religious Freedom, the International Convocation of Unitarian Universalist Women (ICUUW). This can include studies, international courses, seminars and meetings relative to Unitarianism and Liberal Religion.
- Support individual international NAUA members, affiliated fellowships and congregations by providing educational programs as well as opportunities to interact with other NAUA members and communities.
- Facilitate the formation or affiliation of fellowships and congregations outside of North America with NAUA and support the development of their leadership through collaboration with other NAUA Committees, e.g. Ministerial Support .
