The June Sunday Service brings together the scientific view of nature, along with the mystical and spiritual view, with a sermon by Dr. Gary Nelson.

"The world is not a problem to be solved; it is a living being to which we belong. It is part of our own self and we are a part of its suffering wholeness. Until we go to the root of our image of separateness, there can be no healing. And the deepest part of our separateness from creation lies in our forgetfulness of its sacred nature, which is also our own sacred nature."

Thich Nhat Hanh

The June sermon is delivered by Dr. Gary Nelson whose training in electrical engineering and applied mathematics encouraged views of the cosmos as mindless, meaningless matter in motion. However, his great-grandmother was Native American, and he grew up with a grandmother who was a trance medium who introduced him to a spirit guide that was a helper.

His path to a PhD was unconventional—he built and operated two “beatnik “ coffee houses, a stint in USAF as computer repairman and finally college.

He has been a student of spirituality since childhood. This presentation incorporates his i interests in Vipassana Buddhism and the process philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead.

This service is arranged and organized by Doug Rodgers.

A suggestion is to cut and paste the Zoom link below (that will be used for this and other recurring 3rd Sat. services), into your calendar to avoid scrambling to find the address on Saturday!
